Dr. Shannon Burton - Education Administration Professional
An experienced teacher and school administrator, Dr. Shannon Burton holds several graduate degrees in education and business administration. He studied business education at Lehman College, ultimately graduating with a master’s degree in science and education. Dr. Shannon Burton went on to study educational administration and to earn a doctoral degree from Capella University.
Dr. Shannon Burton also holds a master of business administration in marketing from Capella University, as well as a master of science in information technology and another in mathematics from Drury University. In addition, Dr. Burton has earned a bachelor of business administration from Berkeley College.
Dr. Burton has served as an assistant principal for public relations and mathematics at a high school in Yonkers, New York. Before assuming that role, he served as a mathematics teacher at the same institution. He has also served as principal at an urban middle school in the state of New York. In that role, he oversaw curriculum development. He is now the director of secondary education for University Heights Schools, where his responsibilities include implementing the first Gifted and Talented Academy in the city of Newark, New Jersey.
